Introducing WSPA’s Live Export Campaigns Officer: Katinka Day

As the Humane Chain evolves, so too does its staff. Meet Katinka Day, Campaign Officer who began in May this year.

Katinka is responsible for the public engagement side of the Humane Chain. This involves working on our Social Media channels, the Humane Chain website, volunteers and helping execute our next campaign: Stand Up for Animals.

She came to WSPA after working within the private and public sector as she wanted to work with an organisation she felt strongly about. As an animal lover  she is passionate about ending live animal exports. “It is fundamental that animal welfare is on the public and government agenda. Live animal exports disregards animals in such an unforgivable way and as there are viable alternatives that protect farmers and our economy, it is essential that this practice is completely phased out”.

Katinka’s experience lies in digital and direct marketing, skills she has developed from her work at Ernst & Young and the Australian Trade Commission. She has worked on a variety of digital campaigns and will bring some of this technical know-how to the Humane Chain’s future campaigns.

Katinka lives in Sydney with her cat Olle and spends the majority of her spare time inventing and cooking vegetarian food.
