Live export ships continue to leave our shores on a regular basis, filled to the brim of animals that face long and torturous journeys and fully conscious slaughter. WSPA is still determined to end live animal exports and has been working tirelessly behind the scenes. But, we need your help!
We are about to ramp up our efforts leading up to the election next year. We want to show the government just how many people oppose live trade and volunteers are integral in achieving this.
There are all sorts of interesting and meaningful things you can do to help. Pick a team that best suits your interests and abilities, then contact us if you want to get involved!
- Public Awareness Team.If you want to build awareness of the live export issue then the public awareness team is for you. The aim of this group is to get talking to people on the street. This may involve setting up a market stall, petitioning and letterbox drops. Increasing awareness of live exports and illustrating that there are viable alternatives is extremely important to this campaign.
- Government Relations Team. For those a bit more politically inclined, this team works closely on communication with the government. You’ll do letter writing (that we can help with!), refute standard party responses, ask questions to demand further follow up from MPs and even visit your MP. We can provide you with all the information you need and have a range of resources you can use to help with these interactions.
- Social Media Team. If you are active online you would be a great fit for our Social Media team. As an online advocate, you can help share, promote and comment on live export content across your social media networks. We work with you closely and alert you to opportunities and talking points that you can spread online.
