AACo states abattoir in NT will be financially viable

We saw an article in Beef Central a couple of weeks ago which peaked our interest. They say that AACo’s proposed abattoir in the Northern Territory looks like it will be a strong performer. This is great news for cattle farmers and of course for the cattle themselves, who will be spared the boat journey and slaughtered under Australian law. You can read the article here. According to AACo’s chairman, their new cattle processing plant near Darwin has the potential … Continued

This heavy investment in the live export industry, rather than in the chilled meat trade is neither sensible nor fair – particularly as the … Continued

New WSPA report: live export solution to benefit Australian jobs, farmers and animals

WSPA has come up with a solution to the live export issue – one that will not only protect the welfare of hundreds of thousands of animals each year but will see a more stable future for Northern Australia cattle farmers. We know that an animal welfare group proposing a cattle-processing facility is a new, revolutionary approach. But we 100% believe that our solution is the most realistic, most animal-friendly way that the live export issue can be quickly resolved. … Continued
