Indonesia to slash Aussie beef imports

Indonesian vets invite WSPA to help improve cattle welfare

WSPA staff recently attended a workshop with the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA), who were asked to put forward recommendations to the Indonesian Government on how to improve the handling and slaughter of cattle. The workshop follows the release of footage filmed by Animals Australia which showed extremely cruel handling and slaughter practices in Indonesian slaughter houses. Investigation Reveals Cruel Cattle Deaths During Live Export

Gateway Bridge accident highlights risks of live animal transport

A cattle truck rollover last night in Brisbane, which crushed several animals to death and led to many more being put down, is a horrible reminder of the dangers of transporting animals long distances, says Handle with Care spokesperson Dr Hugh Wirth.
