Farmers, Meatworkers, and Animal Welfare Activists Unite to End Live Export in Lismore

From June 30 – July 1 WSPA campaigners attended the “End Live Export Sessions” in Lismore, NSW. The two-day event was organised by the Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre, Animal Law and Education Project (ALEP). Southern Cross University Wins the Humane Campus Challenge!

Students from 8 Universities across Australia have spent the last 5 weeks campaigning to end live animal export. They’ve made use of social media, handed out postcards, held stalls on their campus, run special events, and more in order to raise awareness of the issue and generate action from their fellow students by having them write letters to their MPs. Taking the Humane Campus Challenge to the streets

On Monday I attended a market stall at Australian National University, where passionate students Chris and Sarah from the school’s Youth Vegetarian Association braved the cold and rain to hand out postcards and encourage classmates to join the Humane Chain as part of WSPA’s Humane Campus Challenge. It’s been an exciting few weeks for the Humane Campus Challenge and we’re thrilled to see so many students getting involved to help end live animal exports. The competition is neck and neck!
