Australian lost jobs
In 2010 alone over 1,000 meat workers lost their jobs, mainly due to stock shortages exacerbated by the live export trade.

Live Export Community Forum
In late 2010 the City of Fremantle hosted a Community Forum on the live export trade. The Mayor of Fremantle along with numerous MPs, representatives from the Meat processing Industry and Animal Welfare groups all came out in support of phasing out live export.

Global Humane Chain Press Conference
The World Society for the Protection of Animals presented Members of Parliament Kelvin Thomson, Janelle Saffin and Melissa Parke with a global photo petition against live export at Parliament House, Canberra.
